speed Programming in UTM

6 March 2010,FSKSM-Anther brilliance game was conducted by a very creative association,PERSAKA.The speed programming competition was a very challenging game for all the participants as they were required to complete certain programming based on the task given in a limited time.The competition was open to all the first year students in the computer science and information system faculty.A very encouraging response from all the students are vey well appreciated by the society.The participants are only required to use C++ programming language and no other programming language ere allowed.The winner won to Hendra ,1SCR with RM200 and a certificate,The first runner was , Nithi Surachman ,1SCR ,with RM150 and also a certificate and 2nd runner up was ,Muhammad Hisyam Bin Md Gapar ,1SCV with RM100 and certificate.Ten hampers were given as the consolation prize and all the participants were given a participating certificate.According to Muhammad Syahmi Bin Zainul Arifin,the Director of the Speed Programming Programme,he was very glad for the encouraging response from all the first year students from all courses in this faculty which are SCV, SCJ, SCD, SCB dan SCR. He also hoped that the competition will be held again and can be used as a tool for the students to have a healty competition among them.In addition,the programme also gave a valuable experience for the freshie and to expose them to the reality of working phenomenon in the real world after they graduate .He also added that the programme should be a yearly programme to the faculty to enhance the talent among the science computer students in programming.Besides that,He also suggested that the scope of the programme should be widen as a yearly’s programme for the university and the competition should be open for all the universities in all over the world.Hence,we also supports the suggestion as it is parallel with the UTM missions to be well known as the world class university.I believe that these programs are important for the future of the students and university’s level.
